OUR STORY

Lickstone Outfitter is a family-owned outfitter specializing in bear hunts in North Carolina. Jeremy Messer started the business in 2016, he was a one man show, staying in an outdoor storage shed while putting his hunters up in a hotel. Jeremy knew he wanted to keep his services at a price range that the average man could afford.

Jeremy has hound hunted for bear since he was a young boy. He knew from there bear hunting would be his passion.

Through the growth of Lickstone we have been able over time to open up more options than just bear hunting with hounds. We now have several different bear hunts available, and a few deer and turkey.

As of 2020 Jeremy has grown Lickstone Outfitters to the point that his beautiful bride Stacee Messer could leave corporate America and join him in his dream of being a guide. Boy did she come in hot, obtaining the Boone and Crockett for a massive 470lb bear scoring 20 and 10/16 inch, in the same year!

Jeremy and Stacee live in the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina and operate their guide services not only in the mountains of North Carolina, but also on the east coast in Beaufort County. Lickstone prides itself not only successful hunting, but in the relationships, they form with their clients. The first man that ever hunted with Jeremy has been a repeat customer every year since and has successfully tagged out each year!
